Former chairman of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Oleg Poptsov was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery in Moscow, reported “RIA News”. Earlier, a civil memorial service was held on Shabolovka Street.
Journalist and Honored Art Worker of Russia Oleg Poptsov died 16 October. He was 88 years old. From 1966 to 1990, Mr. Poptsov was the editor-in-chief of the Rural Youth magazine. In 1990-1996 he was the head of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. The media cited as one of the possible reasons for his resignation a position against the entry of Russian troops into Chechnya.
