Nvidia on September 30 announced to employees the closure of an office in Russia, said Forbes representative of the company. The source of the publication said that Nvidia is “actively taking out on charter planes” those who agree to relocate to other countries and work in local offices.
According to an Nvidia spokesperson, the company decided to close the Russian office due to “the inability to ensure efficient operation.” Until February, more than 300 employees worked at Nvidia in Russia, now there are 240 people left. With employees who do not want to leave Russia, the contract was terminated by agreement of the parties with severance pay, specified in Nvidia.
Nvidia in March suspended sales in Russia. In July, as Kommersant found out, Nvidia stopped renewing and selling licenses for its cloud gaming software to Russian companies. Licenses allowed to optimize the operation of the equipment and connect more players at the same time.
