Swedish Coast Guard: Gas leak at Nord Stream 2 has resumed

The Swedish Coast Guard reported a renewed gas leak from the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The press service noted that the gas release may continue for some time, so the department is taking all necessary measures to protect the environment.
“According to the forecast based on the dialogue with Nord Stream, the leaks should have stopped on Sunday, but this refers to the larger release from Nord Stream 1. The smaller leak at Nord Stream 2 has increased today compared to yesterday’s size,”— says in the service message.
On September 26, a pressure drop was recorded in the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, which caused gas leaks that created 100-meter gas bubbles on the surface of the Baltic Sea. On September 29, the Swedish Coast Guard discovered another gas leak.
Later pipeline operators reportedthat the pressure in the pipes has stabilized, which means that all the threads of the Russian gas pipeline were left without fuel. In the press service of Gazprom confirmedthat the pressure in the two strings of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline and in the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has stabilized and gas leaks have stopped. Now, as the interlocutors of Kommersant FM clarified, it is possible to start investigating the accidents, but the Russian side still does not have access to the scene.
