For half a year of coal trading on the stock exchange, only one supplier fulfilled the standards

Since the launch of regular trading in February 2023, only SDS-Coal has fulfilled the standard for the sale of coal on the exchange. This was told to Vedomosti by a representative of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), the information was confirmed by the vice-president of the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (SPIMEX) Anton Karpov.

According to the joint order of the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Ministry of Energy, companies that occupy a dominant position in the market are required to sell at least 10% of the supply of D and DG grade coal to the domestic market as part of organized trading on the SPIMEX. The order was registered in November 2022 and is aimed at creating market indicators and ensuring market transparency.
