Footage of Kikabidze’s last interview before his death appeared on the Web

The day after the death of actor Vakhtang Kikabidze, on January 16, a video of his, probably the last interview given to Russian journalists, was published on the Internet. The author of the interview, which took place, as Express Newspaper clarifies, a few months ago, was Ksenia Sobchak.

Talking about his current life, the artist spoke about serious health problems: due to kidney failure, he was forced to undergo hemodialysis several times a week for several hours. He spoke during the interview as if with some effort. However, as the publication notes, despite everything, he nevertheless looked stylish and well-groomed during the dialogue with the Russian celebrity, smoked, drank white wine, convinced that he was not afraid of death, and, apparently, was pleased with the years he lived, talking about them as a “beautiful, happy life.”

Meanwhile, as EG notes, a year ago Vakhtang Kikabidze buried his wife, after which he practically stopped leaving the house, although he willingly received children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

However, it cannot be said that nothing in a fairly old interview spoke of an upcoming sad event. As if talking about medical procedures, Vakhtang Konstantinovich said: “Three days ago it was very, very bad, it never happened like that. I lay down and said, “Lord, take me. Like, don’t care.”

The actor, popularly loved in the USSR, will be buried on January 19, in Georgia, next to his mother.
