FAS will study complaints about the paid distribution of the Internet from phones – Kommersant

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) is studying complaints from subscribers of operators about charging for the distribution of mobile Internet. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the FAS. Now MTS, Beeline, Megafon and Tele2 charge for Internet distribution.

“The service sent requests to telecom operators in order to establish all the circumstances and details. Currently, the service is analyzing information received from telecom operators, on the basis of which, in case of violations of the antimonopoly law, it will take response measures, ”the report says (quoted by TASS).

Since April, MTS has been charging money for distributing mobile Internet. As they wrote Vedomosti, sometimes an increase in the bill for distributing the Internet can be up to 1,500 rubles. per month. In April, he also began to take a fee for distributing the Internet from new subscribers at some Beeline tariffs. In addition, some operators, for example, MTS, offer to connect a separate tariff for Internet distribution. The operators said that the introduction of the fee allowed “better use of network resources.”

In August 2023, the Ministry of Digital Development developed a draft strategy for the development of the Russian communications industry until 2035. The document provides for the possibility for operators to raise tariffs above the level of inflation if they reinvest a significant part of the profits in projects for the development of communication networks and the development of new technologies.
