FAS Russia against “national shelves” in stores in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia criticized the regulation on shelves with local products in online and offline stores in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Vedomosti found out. We are talking about the priority supply of local goods on trading platforms in a number of EAEU countries. The Russian regulator believes that this principle is a barrier within the framework of interaction between the countries of the union.

The FAS position on the issue of priority placement of local goods in stores in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan was expressed on October 5, 2023 at a meeting of the main governing body of the EAEU, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Vedomosti reviewed a copy of the minutes of the meeting; the discussion of the case was confirmed by a representative of the EEC press service. Who exactly spoke from FAS at the meeting is not indicated in the minutes. According to the EEC representative, the meeting on October 5 was held “with the participation of authorized representatives of the EAEU member states.”
