FAS received a petition from a German company to buy Russian Lamoda

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has received a petition from the German company Eastrealty Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungs GmbH to buy the Russian business of the online retailer Lamoda. About it reported in the press service of the FAS.
It is specified that the company plans to acquire the rights to a number of Lamoda legal entities, including Kupisuz, Pick-Up, Ikom Solution, Fashion with Delivery and Lamoda Tech. The Federal Antimonopoly Service noted that it would evaluate the impact of the transaction on the Russian online retail market in the fashion segment in the prescribed manner.
Now Lamoda belongs to the international holding Global Fashion Group. At the beginning of October in the corporation reportedthat the online retailer will be sold to a businessman, the owner of the Russian “Stokman” Yakov Panchenko. The deal was supposed to close before the end of this year. The sale was expected to bring the Global Fashion Group about €100 million “in addition to the value of cash held in the Lamoda business as of September 30, 2022.”
Lamoda was founded by entrepreneurs from Germany in 2011. Lamoda operates in the markets of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. At the same time, the international holding Global Fashion Group was founded, the group is registered in Luxembourg. The holding, in addition to Lamoda, also includes other online platforms operating in Latin America, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The Global Fashion Group suspended investments in Lamoda in April after launching a special military operation in Ukraine. At the same time, information appeared about the suspension of the construction of the second warehouse of the online retailer in Russia.
