FAS approved the purchase by the owner of Vkusno — i dotka of a McDonald’s logistics partner

Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia satisfied a petition from the Logistika i Tochka company, owned by businessman Alexander Govor, who owns the Vkusno-i Tochka fast food chain, to acquire the Russian business of the Havi Logistics group, which specializes in food logistics.
“As a result of the transaction, Logistics and Tochka will acquire ownership of the assets of the former partner of McDonald’s in the segment of logistics, packaging, waste processing, planning and supply management,” the ministry said in a statement.
The FAS added that the deal will optimize the work of more than 700 restaurants of the Vkusno i Tochka chain and will not limit competition in any markets.
The fact that Alexander Govor buys the Russian assets of Havi became known in the middle of November. At Vkusno — i dot, they then explained that the deal included 14 distribution centers of the logistics company in Russia, and all employees and management of the company would retain their jobs.
Havi Logistics was founded by Ted Perlman and Bob Rock in 1976. Since that time, the corporation has been cooperating with McDonald’s. The company currently provides its services in 45 countries. In Russia, Havi Logistics was represented by OOO Rulog founded in 2003. In addition to McDonald’s, the company also cooperated with IKEA, which left Russia, and companies in the energy and oil and gas sectors – British Petroleum (BP), Equinor (formerly Statoil), OMV.
McDonald’s has closed its restaurants in Russia since March 14, and on May 16 the company announced its withdrawal from the Russian market. In mid-May, the fast food chain announced the sale of 718 restaurants in Russia to local licensee Alexander Govor. The company reserved the option to buy the business back within 15 years.
