Relatives, friends and stars see off the legendary poet on his last journey in Moscow

Nikolai Dobronravov passed away at the age of 94 on September 17. His widow, composer Alexandra Pakhmutova, 93, is going to attend the farewell ceremony. Her friends said that she accepted the sad news from the hospital with steadfastness. Now her relatives support her.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences to Alexandra Pakhmutova and called Nikolai Dobronravov “an outstanding son of the Fatherland, a real creator and builder, truly a people’s favorite.”

Nikolai Dobronravov was born on November 22, 1928. In alliance with his wife, composer Alexandra Pakhmutova, he wrote many songs that became iconic in the USSR – “Our Youth Team”, “Hope”, “Tenderness”, “Bird of Happiness”, “A Coward Doesn’t Play Hockey” and others.
