Famous film director Otar Ioseliani has died

Journalist Yuri Rost reported in his Telegram channel that film director Otar Ioseliani, People’s Artist of the Georgian SSR, who also lived and worked in France, died at the age of 89.
Rost called Ioseliani a “great filmmaker” and an “amazing person.”
The director graduated from VGIK in 1965 and his first feature film “Falling Leaves,” shot in 1966, won the FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes.
Ioseliani’s best films also included “Once Upon a Song Thrush,” “The Truth in Wine,” “Butterfly Hunt,” “Favorites of the Moon,” “And There Became Light.”
