Extinction Rebellion activists glued to Picasso painting

Two climate activists from the Extinction Rebellion organization were arrested on Sunday after sticking themselves to a Picasso painting at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
The activists applied superstrong glue to their palms and leaned against the glass cover of “Picasso’s Massacre in Korea,” a painting. They also held up a banner reading “Climate Chaos = War and Famine.
“If we continue on our current path, we will face the collapse of everything that provides our security, and this will lead to conflict,” the activist group said, quoting naturalist and broadcaster David Attenborough.
A 49-year-old woman from New South Wales and a 59-year-old man from suburban Melbourne were removed from the painting a few hours later.
They were arrested, as was their 49-year-old accomplice.
Extinction Rebellion said no artwork was harmed in the incident.
