The German transnational postal and logistics company DHL Express has sharply increased the cost of its services in Russia by an average of 35%. About it reported RBC with reference to the company’s letter sent to customers.

“In accordance with the global pricing policy, DHL Express annually reviews the cost of services, taking into account a number of factors, including inflation, operating and other costs, such as the cost of air transportation, vehicles and their components, fuels and lubricants. – ed.) and fuel, including aviation, an increase in tariffs for airport taxes. All this has a significant impact on the cost of our services,” the letter says.

The increase affected delivery tariffs, customs declaration services, etc. In particular, the cost of delivering cargo with non-standard dimensions increased by 37% (up to 4,800 rubles per piece), by 72% – the cost of transporting lithium batteries (2,000 rubles) and by 64.6% – cost of delivery to high-risk countries (RUB 2,800).

In March 2022 DHL suspended delivery of goods and documents to Russia and Belarus against the backdrop of a special operation in Ukraine. From September 1, 2022, DHL only delivers from Russia abroad, it stopped deliver items within the country.
