Marine exports of diesel fuel of the 5th environmental class from Russia during the temporary ban amounted to 520 thousand tons, follows from Kpler data, which cites “Vedomosti”. Diesel fuel exports by rail in September fell 6 times compared to the same period last year, a representative of the Institute for Problems of Natural Monopolies told the publication.

From August 21 to September 6, 1.54 million tons were exported, while the volume of exports from July 21 to August 6 amounted to 1.52 million tons. From these data it follows that supplies of diesel fuel to the domestic market could increase by about 1 million t during the period of export restrictions.

In September, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that Russian regions faced the threat of fuel shortages. This happened against the backdrop of rising prices and shutdowns for planned repairs of several refineries. To stabilize the situation on September 21, the government temporarily limited export of diesel fuel and gasoline. During this period, supplies abroad continued within the framework of intergovernmental agreements.
