Exports of Russian oil products approached a 15-month low amid strong domestic demand for automotive fuel. The agency came to this conclusion. Bloombergby analyzing Vortexa data from August 1 to 20.
According to Vortexa, during the first 20 days of August, Russia reduced the shipment of petroleum products by 14%. The volume of daily exports of petroleum products amounted to 2.24 million barrels. According to Bloomberg, this is the lowest figure since May 2022.
Deliveries of diesel fuel and gas oil, which account for about 45% of Russian oil exports, have fallen to just below 1 million barrels per day. Supplies of gasoline and blending components fell by 43% to 66,000 barrels per day.
Naphtha exports fell to 371 thousand barrels per day (-22%). Bloomberg notes that Asian and Middle Eastern countries have become less likely to buy Russian naphtha. Deliveries of Russian fuel oil, which accounts for almost a third of all exports, fell to 624,000 barrels per day. It is also the lowest since March 2022.
Russia, as it became known to Kommersant, fulfilled the announced reduction in offshore oil exports in August, which is now estimated at 2.94 million barrels per day. Exports fell below this level only in December last year, when the EU and the G7 imposed a price ceiling on Russian oil.
