Export of iron ore to Europe from Russia in 2022 fell four times

The volume of exports of iron ore concentrate and pellets from Russia to Europe decreased by 4 times in 2022 to 2.9 million tons. This is evidenced by the calculations of the Metals & Mining Intelligence (MMI) industry agency; market for the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation) provided to Vedomosti.
Concentrate exports fell 8.5 times to 0.2 mln t, and pellets fell 3.7 times to 2.7 mln t. fell under EU sanctions in 2022. But exports to Europe of a premium iron ore product, hot briquetted iron (HBI), decreased less significantly: by only 7% to 2.5 million tons.
