Export cargo traffic with China resumed in Transbaikalia from January 16

In the Trans-Baikal Territory at the international automobile checkpoint (MAPP) “Zabaikalsk” from today, January 16, the processing of export cargo has been resumed. As reported in Telegram channel Federal Customs Service of Russia, cargo traffic with China was suspended in November 2020 due to the coronavirus epidemic.
“Besides, from January 16, the “reverse transfer” regime is cancelled. This will increase the number of cars with goods entering the territory of Russia and reduce the time and financial costs of carriers.
The department also notes that 115.3 thousand tons of goods were exported to China through the Zabaikalsk checkpoint in 2020, which is an average of 25 trucks per day.
As Kommersant was told in the press service of the government of the Trans-Baikal Territory, earlier, on January 8, passenger traffic was resumed through the checkpoint.
The Zabaikalsk checkpoint connects the Russian settlement of the same name and the city of Manchuria in China.
