EU replenishes gas reserves 21% slower than average annual rate

The rate of replenishment of gas reserves in underground storage facilities (UGS) in the EU is at a historically low level, despite the fall in fuel prices in the European market. This follows from the data of the association of European storage operators Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).
According to Vedomosti’s calculations based on GIE data, in 30 days from the end of the heating season, i.e. from April 6, 2023, 8 billion cubic meters were pumped into EU UGSFs. m of gas. The average daily injection level is 268.3 million cubic meters. m. This is 21% below the average replenishment level in this period (in the first month, i.e., 30 days after the end of the heating season) over the past five years and 1.3% below the average level for 10 years.
