Erdogan’s representative: US gave guarantees on market access for Russian agricultural products

The official representative of the President of Turkey, Ibrahim Kalyn, said: The United States provided Turkey with guarantees that they would not interfere with the entry of Russian agricultural products to the world market. Mr. Kalyn urged the United States to publicly confirm this information. This was stated by the representative of the President in an interview with the TV channel A Haber.
“In conversations with our American partners, we received guarantees that there would be no obstacles for Russian products to enter the markets, we proposed to make this public in order to remove questions,” said Ibrahim Kalyn (quoted by RIA Novosti).
Mr. Kalyn added that Turkey has not yet received a clear answer from Moscow on the issue of extending the grain deal. The president’s spokesman clarified that an extension of the deal by six months or a year would be ideal for Istanbul. Turkey and the UN continue contacts with Russia on this issue.
Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN concluded grain deal on 22 July. Then the countries agreed to remove various restrictions on the export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to world markets, and also determined the algorithm for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products from the Black Sea ports controlled by Ukraine.
The Russian side has repeatedly announced a possible withdrawal from the agreement. President Vladimir Putin criticized transaction implementation. According to him, grain from Ukraine is still leaving the poorest countries of the world, and Moscow has not yet been able to withdraw a single ship with agricultural products. In addition, the president allowedthat the Russian side may completely close Ukrainian ports if it turns out that grain carriers were used to deliver explosives to the Crimean bridge. The agreement expires November 19th.
