A rally of marketplace sellers is taking place near the Wildberries office in Moscow, eight police cars arrived at the building, reports RBC. The representative of the protesting sellers, lawyer Alexander Baksheeva, told the Telegram channel “Beware the News”that on the night of May 10-11, about 2 billion rubles were written off from suppliers. for “certain advertising services.”

Ms. Baksheeva, in a conversation with Caution, the News, emphasized that advertising services cannot cost that much, the sellers did not conclude contracts with Wildberries for such advertising services. “People came to the Wildberries headquarters to talk with management, with the security service, but management completely ignores people. … Someone has 270 million rubles. written off, someone has 80 million rubles,” the lawyer said.

The press service of Wildberries told RBC that the marketplace support service communicates with sellers near the office near the Avtozavodskaya metro station. At the main office, the protesters were reminded that Wildberries representatives had turned with a statement to law enforcement agencies to initiate a criminal case on fraud on an especially large scale. “Data on the sellers who contacted us today will be rechecked. Sellers who used fraudulent schemes will have to pay for advertising services in full, as well as answer questions from the investigating authorities, ”the marketplace press service told RBC.

Earlier today, on May 11, the company announced that it had uncovered illegal ways to promote through external services. The damage from them is estimated at 650 million rubles. According to Wildberries, sellers set up advertising campaigns on the site using the Telegram bot, but did not pay for them. According to the company, about 300 sellers used these services. They will be required to pay the full cost of advertising on the site.

On March 9, Wildberries announced the introduction of new rules for owners of pick-up points (PIUs). They were going to be charged the full cost of the order if a defect or other product was found when it was returned to the warehouse. In response, the owners of the Wildberries pickup point announced a strike demanding the cancellation of fines and the return of the money paid. In April, against the backdrop of a conflict with the owners of the pickup point due to innovations, the marketplace softened fines. April 20 court acknowledged illegal requirement of Wildberries for buyers to pay for the return of goods of inadequate quality.
