Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev said that eggs from Turkey without import duty will begin to arrive in Russia in two to three weeks. According to him, this should adjust prices for this product.
“In the near future, already this week, eggs should arrive from Azerbaijan. Literally, I think, in two or three weeks eggs will come from Turkey without the corresponding import duty, which will allow us to adjust prices,” Dmitry Patrushev said at the United Russia party congress.
The minister also said that prices continue to rise. However, further against the background of the seasonal factor, after the New Year, they will decline.
Prices for eggs began to rise sharply in November; this month they have become one of the most expensive products – prices have risen by 10-20% in 46 regions. Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov ordered an inspection of chicken egg producers and retailers.
