Dyson announced about the upcoming construction of manufacturing facilities and technology hubs in Singapore, the Philippines and the UK. This massive expansion comes in line with the previously announced $3.4 billion five-year global investment plan.
In Singapore, where Dyson has been headquartered globally since last year, the company plans to build a next-generation battery plant. Dyson’s next-generation battery technology “will revolutionize the performance and long-term efficiency of Dyson products,” the company said in a statement. Production at the plant, whose territory will be equal to 53 basketball courts, will be launched in 2025.
In the Philippines, the company will build a technology hub in the city of Santo Tomas, invest more than $207 million in it and hire more than 400 engineers, specialists in AI, robotics, software, fluid dynamics and electronic equipment to work there. The hub will start operating in the second half of 2024. In addition, Dyson will invest more than $125 million in a new center in Bristol, where several hundred AI engineers will work on the company’s new products.
