The Dutch company Philips will continue to supply hospital equipment to Russia, transmits Reuters, citing the company’s executive director, Roy Jacobs.
“The right to healthcare is universal and we are part of the healthcare delivery system,” Jacobs said at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in Amsterdam.
He noted that Philips’ activities in Russia are focused on servicing and supplying hospital equipment such as large medical scanners, while the company has stopped selling personal care products – with the exception of maternity products.
After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, many Western brands announced their withdrawal from the Russian market and the suspension of investments. According to Yale University, more than 1,000 companies have reported this publicly.
After the companies began to leave the Russian market, the Ministry of Industry and Trade approved a list of goods for parallel imports that can be imported into the Russian Federation without the consent of the manufacturer or copyright holder. In particular, it included goods from electronics manufacturers, cars, rare earth metals, sports equipment, etc.
