Dozens of Russian “stars” landed in Kenya for the filming of the series

The nail of the plot is an epidemic

Teresa Diuro, Lyubov Konstantinova, Yevgeny Volovenko and other actors of the new series about doctors, the outgoing year will most likely be remembered, among other things, for filming in Africa. The project team spent more than two weeks in Kenya, where the most ambitious scenes of the project were filmed.

Due to the complexity of their organization, such expeditions do not happen very often. But in this case, the film crew was not rich with other options. According to the script, part of the action of the series takes place in Africa, and it is not so easy to “make up” even the most southern regions of Russia for it. Therefore, we decided not to deceive the viewer and went to look for exotic places where there are a lot of them.

A landing force of sixty-four men landed in Kenya. For the sake of caution, the film crew was accompanied everywhere by the chief of police and specially hired security. The savannah and the streets of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, became natural scenery for African scenes. One hundred and twenty representatives of the Masai tribe were attracted to the extras, who turned out to be very artistic and sociable people. There was also a translator consultant on the set, and thanks to him, the Russian actors mastered a few phrases in Swahili.

According to the plot, a dangerous epidemic breaks out in one of the African countries and volunteers from Russia arrive to help local doctors. They are trying to localize the infection, and a virologist who arrived with the doctors is working on the creation of a vaccine right on the spot. However, the brave work of doctors is suddenly overgrown with a spy plot of a large pharmaceutical company, for which a potential vaccine is a strategic goal.

After returning from Africa, the film crew had almost no time to acclimatize. At the moment, the series team is working in Tula, where part of the local perinatal center was provided for filming, and for the final scenes the entire group will return to Moscow.

The main roles in the project are played by Lyubov Konstantinova, Evgeny Volovenko, Teresa Diuro, Ilya Malakov, Evgeny Sidikhin, Artur Vakha and Vadim Andreev.
