The Russian company VK has revealed the details of the domestic Nau Engine — it will support popular operating systems, including Linux. It will also be possible to use neural networks to solve technological problems.
It will be possible to write program code in C++ and C#. Also, the process of creating games will be simplified by the scripting language included in the engine. The Nau Engine will include visual programming tools and zero-coding, support for graphics APIs such as DirectX12, Vulcan, Metal, as well as Ray Tracing and DLSS graphics technologies. Closed beta testing is going to start at the end of 2023.
Previously VK announced the name of the domestic game engine is Nau Engine, and also said that the engine will help in the development of projects for PCs, consoles, mobile devices and browsers. The engine is created on the principle of open source, contains a core with an editor that allows you to create standard projects and ready-made game systems, and an interface for connecting to popular services is also available. VK invested in the project 1 billion rubles.
