According to the press service of the NFMI, the main objective of such partnerships is to unite the efforts of the market to stimulate the development of the music industry.
According to Black Star CEO Pavel Kuryanov, the association is necessary to establish dialogue and cooperation between representatives of the music industry, the state, as well as colleagues from other creative and Internet industries. NFMI General Director Nikita Danilov noted that the joining of companies to the association, in addition to general development and support, will protect the interests of copyright holders in connection with the development of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence technologies.

The total catalog of phonograms and musical works of NFMI member companies accounts for more than 50% of all music published and released in Russia.
