The meeting of the Culture Committee, held on February 14, was attended by actor and deputy Dmitry Pevtsov, who accused his film colleagues of trying to make a “soft undermining” of Russia.

“Now I deliberately go to the cinema and see what comes out there. Although these films were launched (into production) two or three years ago, in addition to foreign agents, there are artists in quotation marks doing soft “undermining” through cinema,” Pevtsov said.

At the same time, he distorted a quote from Lenin, saying that the most important arts for us are cinema and circus (Vladimir Ilyich does not talk about the circus). He also criticized the recent film “The Master and Margarita”, the author of which, according to Pevtsov, “loves” Soviet power even more than Bulgakov (the famous “Soviet anti-Soviet”).

With the existing system of expert councils, it is difficult to monitor what is shown on the screen, says Pevtsov. And because of this, “a huge number of “waiters” are secretly trying to destroy everything that is now being built by our guys in the south of Russia (that is, in the area where the Northern Military District is being held),” the actor expressed his opinion.

At the same time, Pevtsov did not explain how Bulgakov’s criticism of the Stalinist USSR of the period before the Great Patriotic War affects the current situation.
