Director Gleb Panfilov, who passed away at the age of 89, was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery next to his wife Inna Churikova.
The space around the resting place of the famous couple was completely filled with people, wreaths and farewell bouquets were visible everywhere.
The son of the director and actress, Ivan, said a few words at the funeral ceremony: “My whole life, all my childhood and part of me are leaving. But much remains. I was brought up thanks to Inna, Gleb, for me they are an example of a Russian person. They have set such a high, unattainable bar that we are honored to strive for it.”
