Russian director Alexander Khvan, under whose direction the films “Dyuba-Dyuba” and “Carmen” were shot, died at the age of 65. This was reported by TASS his agent and wife Elena Khvan.

Alexander Khvan was born on December 28, 1957 in Cheboksary. In 1980 he graduated from the directing department of VGIK. He is best known for the film “Dyuba-Dyuba” (1992), in which Oleg Menshikov played the main role. Among his other famous paintings are “Carmen”, “Dying is Easy”.
