In Tomsk, the concert of singer Diana Arbenina was canceled after complaints from local residents, said the management of the Sports Palace, where the performance was supposed to take place.
“The Sports Palace had an agreement with a production company to hold an Arbenina concert on its site. When it became known about the concert, we and the palace began to receive appeals from the population with complaints about the singer’s allegedly incorrect statements on the current situation,” said acting. O. Head of the Department of Culture of the Tomsk Region Elena Shagova (quote from Interfax).
As Ms. Shagova said, despite the management’s answers that Diana Arbenina had previously performed in other cities, and also recently “sang songs” with the wife of a SVO participant, the flow of complaints continued. As a result, the Sports Palace decided to cancel the concert.
At the beginning of June 2023, the concert of the Night Snipers group was also canceled in Kuzbass. Diana Arbenina was then supposed to perform at the Dinoterra festival. At the same time, the concerts planned for June 28 and 29 in Krasnodar and Sochi took place. In the spring, it became known about the cancellation of the Night Snipers concerts in Tolyatti, Cheboksary, Ulyanovsk, Pyatigorsk, Kazan, Ufa and Perm. The frontwoman of the group “Night Snipers” linked the current situation with “the strange unfulfilled ambitions of individual public figures.”
Shortly before this, the head of the Federal Project for Security and Anti-Corruption, Vitaly Borodin, asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to check the singer under an administrative article about discrediting the Russian army.
