The Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) paid 880.3 million rubles to Qiwi Bank depositors in two days. This amounted to 20% of the agency’s insurance liability for this bank, reported press service of the organization.
According to the DIA, insurance compensation will amount to 4.3 billion rubles. About 20.2 thousand investors, including 10.9 thousand individual entrepreneurs, will be able to apply for payments in the amount of 1.88 billion rubles. and 9 thousand legal entities – 2.41 billion rubles.
Payments of compensation are made through Uralsib Bank. The State Corporation draws attention to the fact that the insured liabilities of the bank include balances on current, settlement and deposit bank accounts of all individuals, individual entrepreneurs, as well as small enterprises and social non-profit organizations, not exceeding 1.4 million rubles.
On February 21, the Central Bank revoked the banking license of Qiwi Bank. The bank ranked 89th in Russia in terms of assets. The license was revoked due to shadow operations, as well as violations of the law. The regulator’s decision caused disruptions in the country’s payment system. FSB employees started pre-investigation check of Qiwi Bank regarding the withdrawal abroad of funds obtained illegally.
