Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) from February 29 starts to pay insurance compensation to Qiwi Bank depositors. Uralsib Bank accepts applications; it will also make payments on behalf of the DIA. From March 19, you can submit an application for a refund remotely through government services.

The depositor, heir or successor can submit an application to any Uralsib division listed on the DIA website. You will need a passport. The application form can be obtained from the bank or downloaded from the DIA website. The agreement on the acceptance of applications by Uralsib was concluded for six months, after which the reimbursement will be continued by this or another bank. Under some circumstances, documents may be accepted by mail.

Money in Qiwi wallets was not insured, as they are electronic funds. For their owners, information on the procedure for submitting claims to the bank is posted on the DIA website.

The Central Bank revoked the license of Qiwi Bank last week. Shortly before this Qiwi sold all of its Russian assets to a Hong Kong company owned by former Qiwi plc chief executive Andrei Protopopov.

The news is being updated.
