Deutsche Post stops delivery of goods and postal items in Russia

The German postal company Deutsche Post ceases its activities in Russia, the delivery of postal items and the transportation of goods within the country. Management plans to provide social support to employees.
“We made this decision last week,” CEO Frank Appel said during the conference (quoted from TASS). Deutsche Post CFO Melanie Kreis said the company needed to adjust its financials in the third quarter due to its exit from the Russian market.
According to the company’s management, preparations are underway to provide social support to employees who have suffered because of the decision. Deutsche Post promises to fulfill contractual obligations regarding imports and exports. It is specified that before the start of the military operation in Ukraine, the postal company received 1% of the total sales in Russia.
July 29 Deutsche Post DHL stated, which terminates the provision of services for the express delivery of goods and documents in Russia from September 1. The company explained the decision made by “significant technical difficulties” related, among other things, to legislative restrictions.
