Deputy Lantratova proposed to create directorates of children’s broadcasting on state channels

Yana Lantratova, First Deputy Head of the State Duma Committee on Education, suggested that Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov and Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev consider the initiative to create a directorate for children’s and youth broadcasting on TV channels with state participation. According to the agency, according to the deputy, there is now an urgent need to create and broadcast programs on public TV channels aimed at preserving traditional socio-cultural values.

State TV channels include Channel One, Rossiya 1, Rossiya 24, Channel Five and Zvezda, as well as children’s TV channels Karusel and Mult. The directorate of children’s and youth programs existed on Channel One until 2007.
