Deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade: the new owners of Zara will announce the date of opening stores next week

The new owner of the Zara brand in Russia, Daher Group, may announce the opening date of stores as early as next week. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Viktor Evtukhov.

“The company will arrive next week and present the concept of how they will open: at what time, which stores, in which regions,” the Deputy Minister said at the X5 Group conference in response to a question about the opening of new Zara stores (quoted by RIA Novosti “).

However, before that, the company must complete the acquisition of Zara’s assets from the Spanish Inditex, which requires the approval of the government commission, Mr. Yevtukhov said.

The Inditex Group has reached an initial agreement to sell the Russian division of Zara to the Russian division of the Daher Group in October 2022. The fact that Daher Group can open stores under its brands in the spring, spoke sources of “Kommersant” in the market. According to them, one of the first will be a point in the Moscow shopping center “Aviapark” under the sign of Maag.

Daher Group is a private Lebanese holding group. It is owned by the Daher brothers from Lebanon, who also own the Azadea Group. This company franchises more than 40 global brands, including Inditex, Adidas, Calzedonia, Mango, in the Middle East, the Persian Gulf and Africa.
