According to Dmitry Ermolaev, Executive Director of Moneyplace, one of the reasons why the demand for drones has increased dramatically may be “the popularization of this product in the media and on television in the context of a military operation.” He clarified that drones can be bought for use while traveling abroad. At the same time, about 20% of purchased drones are sent to the war zone, one of the interlocutors of the publication believes.
On May 3, the ban on the use of drones was introduced in Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Pskov region. On the same day, Alexander Khinshtein, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, said that he had sent an appeal to the Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev and the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko to introduce a temporary moratorium on the use of drones except for state needs. Later, the ban was extended to several more regions.
