Crocs stores in Russia resumed work with a new operator

Corporate stores of the Crocs shoe brand in Russia, which were closed in March after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, began to resume work under the management of a new operator, Claire LLC, informed newspaper “Kommersant”. In particular, this company began to manage a store in the Afimall shopping center, which has already opened.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Claire LLC was established in Moscow in May of this year, 85% of the company is owned by Eric Petit, who was the CEO of Crox SI-I-S for six years, from 2008 to 2014 (after that he headed the representation of the Finnish clothing Reima). The remaining 15% of Claire is owned by the co-owner of the law firm RT-Group, Yevgeny Tregubenko, whose company is engaged in supporting M&A transactions in Russia for foreign investors.
A source close to Crocs in Russia confirmed that the local stores plan to be managed by Claire, which will also oversee the operation of the franchisee. Sellers in one of the offline outlets are expecting a new batch of goods tomorrow, August 23. At the same time, it is not yet planned to resume the work of the Crocs online store in Russia, the products will be delivered to stores through third-party Internet sites.
The Crocs brand was born in 2002 in Florida (USA) thanks to Lyndon Hanson and George Baedeker, Jr., who were involved in yachting and decided to create comfortable shoes so that they do not slip on the deck, and are also easy to put on and take off. Stores entered the Russian market in 2008. Now, according to “Yandex.Kart”, in Russia there are 85 outlets that operate under the Crocs brand.
In 2021, the company’s global revenue grew by 67%, to $2.3 billion, and the revenue of the Russian division of Crox CIA – by 54%, to 4.63 billion rubles, net profit increased by 2.2 times, up to 1.48 billion rubles. In the second quarter, the company reported a $5.8 million loss from closing a business in Russia.
