Crab fishermen are dissatisfied with the rules for creating new plants within the framework of “quotas for keel”

Enterprises in the Far East will actually be deprived of the opportunity to build infrastructure facilities in ports based on the results of crab auctions as part of the second stage of the keel quota program due to new requirements. This was reported to Vedomosti by the Association of Fishing Fleet Owners (ASRF; includes 31 companies, which account for a quarter of the catch of marine biological resources in Russia).

In early February 2023, a draft government decree developed by the Ministry of Agriculture containing requirements for new capacities for processing marine biological resources was published on the regulation.gov.ru portal of draft regulations. In particular, they must be located no further than 300 m from the railway tracks, have a refrigeration room with a capacity of 25,000 tons, as well as a property complex for the maintenance of aquatic biological resources with a volume of at least 200 tons and a container platform for at least 400 containers.
