The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) resumed receiving and transshipping oil at its terminal in the Black Sea on January 17. Work was suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions.
CPC reported that the tanker was moored at the second remote mooring device. “Reception of oil from shippers has also resumed as normal,” the company said in a statement (quoted from “RIA News”).
The length of the CPC pipeline is 1,511 km. It connects oil fields in Kazakhstan and Russian fields on the Caspian shelf with a marine terminal in Novorossiysk. CPC is the main route for the export of Kazakh oil (80% of Kazakhstan’s oil exports).
Sources Reuters reported on the suspension of oil shipments at the marine terminal near Novorossiysk on January 15. CPC confirmed information the day before, January 16. In November 2023, transshipment was suspended for almost two weeks due to storms.
