Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the completion of construction of the Eteri Tutberidze Figure Skating Center on Novoyasenevsky Prospekt. The project was completed 5 months ahead of schedule, Mr. Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to the mayor’s message, the sports palace has two universal ice arenas that can “transform into hockey fields.” All conditions for training are provided for athletes – 10 choreographic, one acrobatic, two gyms, as well as one hall with artificial ice. The center also has a rehabilitation block with a water treatment area.
“The area around the palace has also changed. Now there is a convenient place for walking, as well as parking for 100 cars and buses,” said Mr. Sobyanin.
Construction of the center began in May 2021 under the Moscow Targeted Investment Program. The concept of the complex was developed with the participation of the Honored Figure Skating Coach of Russia, Eteri Tutberidze. Among her students are Olympic champions Yulia Lipnitskaya, Alina Zagitova, Kamila Valieva, Alexandra Drusova and Evgenia Medvedeva.
