Co-working operator Regus closed the site on Smolenskaya Square

Regus, the oldest co-working operator in Russia, has decided to close its first site, which is located in the Smolensky Passage shopping mall. About it informed Kommersant, citing sources.
This information was confirmed by the CEO of Regus Irina Baeva. According to her, the site was closed by mutual agreement with the owner of the space – “Corporation A.N.D.” Sait-Salam Gutseriev. At the same time, the rest of the company’s centers continue to operate as usual, Baeva said, although a number of sources claim that Regus plans to close several more offices.
Earlier, Regus had already abandoned its representative office in Yekaterinburg, and in 2020 it closed facilities in the Tower on the Embankment in Moscow City, and later in the Voentorg complex on Vozdvizhenka. Such a systematic closure of the business may be due to the departure of Western tenants from Russia, which Regus was focused on, says Viktor Rozenberg, head of the OF.ru brokerage department, and Ksenia Kharkevich, director of the ILM office real estate department.
Regus is part of the Belgian International Workplace Group (IWG), founded in 1989. The company first entered the Russian market in 1998, at the same time the first office was opened in Smolensky Passage. According to the Ricci agency, Regus was the sixth operator in Moscow by property portfolio in June 2022, with 22,000 sq. m.
