75% of Russians want to change their profession. Moreover, more than half of them plan to do this already in 2024. The reason is the desire to earn more, analysts from the Zarplata.ru and Skillfactory service found out. Residents of millionaire cities are ready to try themselves in a new profession. And, as it turned out, not only young people, but also 26% of respondents over 50 years old. What specialties are candidates considering? And is business ready to hire employees without experience for high salaries? Aelita Kurmukova sorted it out.

IT, design and starting your own business can improve your financial situation. And for this you can relearn. This is the opinion of 46% of Russians under the age of 30. However, the survey does not say how much money respondents are willing to spend on their retraining. “Kommersant FM” decided to count. If you start from scratch and take the “Fundamentals of Graphic Design” course, for example, on a leading online platform, then you need to invest at least 60 thousand rubles. in four months. But with such an education it is impossible to find a job.

To do this, you need to take at least a one-year extended course. And this is already from 250 thousand rubles. And only then can you count on the junior’s position. The average salary in the market is 50-60 thousand rubles. Or you can not pay for a new specialization, go for less money, but as an intern, says Finn Flare CEO Ksenia Ryasova: “This is our practice – to nurture our staff. The PR manager has been working at my company for four years, and she just graduated from college. This employee came on a small salary to learn a profession. Our system works in the same way in the product department. We hire junior managers with virtually no experience, people who study in their specialty. And by the time they graduate, they can already qualify for a full salary.”

They are not ready to pay newcomers large salaries in the financial sector either. And this direction, as the opinion poll showed, is on the list of top ones for retraining. Applicants without experience can start with a salary equal to the minimum wage, warns Deputy Chairman of the Board of Lanta Bank Irina Rys: “In order to grow a specialist, the organization spends money, and also has the risk that he will leave. Therefore, the internship salary should not be high – 30-50 thousand rubles. depending on the specialization within the financial organization. We are happy to hire interns, and in our bank there are examples where a person from an intern has grown to the position of chief accountant or deputy chairman of the board. It took about seven years.”

Unlike the banking market, where, as Kommersant FM’s interlocutors share, there is no acute shortage of personnel, in the IT segment the salaries of newcomers are slightly higher. But the employer’s main investment is still staff training, emphasizes Oxygen CEO Pavel Kulakov: “Technologies are moving forward quickly, there are no specialists, there is a large shortage of everyone on the market. Now the line about training is starting to weigh quite a lot. The average cost of a weekly course can be from 60 thousand rubles. up to 200 thousand rubles. And such courses must be taken every three to four months to improve their qualifications, if we want to see a good specialist in a year and a half. Therefore, investment in a quality employee is 300-600 thousand rubles. in year”.

So how do you get into large IT companies that pay for training and without work experience? As a rule, people are hired there with a higher education in the field of fundamental sciences: physics and mathematics, engineering. Or you can come to the position of a junior, be it a programmer, a product manager or a technical school graduate, but with your own experience. As Kommersant FM’s interlocutors note, there are examples when self-taught people are paid 100 thousand rubles right away. And within a year or two they can easily count on a salary of 200 thousand rubles.
