The share of defective microcircuits and components supplied to Russian companies from China has grown from 2% to 40% since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine, a Kommersant source in the electronics market said. According to him, the reason is that due to the termination of cooperation between foreign distributors and Russian partners, the latter began to establish import channels through unofficial suppliers.
A top manager of a major Russian electronics manufacturer also spoke about the existence of a problem. He explained that the shortage of components caused by the disruption of logistics due to the pandemic has intensified this year due to sanctions. The interlocutor of Kommersant said that manufacturers are forced to purchase components from unauthorized suppliers who are not responsible for product quality. The Ministry of Industry and Trade claims that they did not receive information about an increase in defective deliveries of components.
