Champagne production in Russia grew by 14.4% in the first quarter

In the first quarter of 2023, the production of champagne in Russia increased by 14.4%, to 2.5 million decalitres (dal), compared to 2022. About this informs TASS with reference to the materials of Rosalkogolregulirovanie.
The volume of production of grape wine increased by 2.7%, to 6.027 million dl, grape-containing drinks without ethyl alcohol – by 11.1%, to 721,800 dl. The production of liqueur wines also increased – by 11.6%, to 270,500 dal.
At the same time, the production of grape-containing drinks with ethyl alcohol decreased by 84%, to 4200 decalitres. The volume of production of fruit alcoholic products also decreased – by 17.8%, to 1.8 million decalitres.
According to the results of the first quarter, the production of alcohol (excluding beer, cider, etc.) increased by 0.1%, to 38.5 million decaliters. At the same time, the production of vodka fell by 8.5%, to 15.9 million decaliters, and cognac – by 1.1%, to 1.85 million decaliters. The production of alcoholic beverages with a strength of up to 25% decreased by 98.7%, to 6600 decalitres. The production of alcoholic beverages with a strength of more than 25% amounted to 3.049 million decalitres (+24.8%).
In March, Rosalkogolregulirovanie reported on the growth of wine production in Russia in January-February by 10.2%, to 3.4 million decalitres. The production of champagne for the same period amounted to 1.7 million decalitres, an increase of 25.8%.
