Casinos in Russia recorded an increase in attendance during the New Year holidays up to 36%

The largest increase in visitors was recorded in the Krasnaya Polyana gambling zone, it amounted to 36%. From January 1 to January 8, more than 32,600 people visited it, in 2022 their number was about 24,000 people, according to AIRIS data.
The number of visitors to other Russian gambling zones is much lower, but they also showed a high increase. In particular, 3,900 guests visited the Siberian Coin gambling zone in Altai during these holidays, which is 36% more than in the same period in 2022. A 28% increase in visitors was recorded at the Tigre de Cristal casino in Primorye, in which more than 8,600 people came during the holidays.
Now there are four gambling zones in Russia – in the Altai, Krasnodar, Primorsky Territories and the Kaliningrad Region. The Yantarnaya gambling zone operates in the latter, but data on it were not disclosed. Also in 2023, it is planned to build a fifth gambling zone in Crimea. According to the current legislation, gambling is allowed only in a special gambling zone, and only one such zone can exist on the territory of one subject.
According to the head of AIRIS Dmitry Afinogenov, the attendance of gambling zones is influenced by both the development of domestic tourism and the small number of events in the entertainment industry this year.
