Cargo turnover of Russian seaports increased by 0.1% in eight months

The cargo turnover of Russian seaports from January to August inclusive increased by 0.1% year-on-year, to 553.3 million tons. The volume of dry cargo transshipment decreased by 4.9%, to 260.9 million tons, the volume of liquid cargo increased 4, 9%, up to 292.4 million tons, informed Rosmorrechflot.
The cargo turnover of the seaports of the Arctic Basin increased by 4.3%, to 65.2 million tons. Of this volume, 18.5 million tons (-4.4%) accounted for the transshipment of dry cargo, 46.7 million tons of liquid cargo (+8 .2%). The cargo turnover of the seaports of the Far Eastern Basin increased by 0.7%, to 151 million tons. Of these, the volume of dry cargo transshipment amounted to 101.7 million tons (+1.4%), liquid cargo – 49.3 million tons (-0.8% ).
The cargo turnover of the seaports of the Caspian basin fell by 25.3%, to 3.7 million tons, of which 1.8 million tons (+5.3%) fell on the transshipment of dry cargo, 1.9 million tons of liquid cargo (-41, 2%). The cargo turnover of the seaports of the Baltic basin decreased by 1.3%, to 163.5 million tons. Of these, the volume of dry cargo transshipment decreased by 18.2%, to 63.8 million tons, the volume of liquid cargo increased by 13.8%, to 99.7 million tons
The cargo turnover of the seaports of the Azov-Black Sea basin did not change, amounting to 169.9 million tons. Of these, dry cargo transshipment accounted for 75.1 million tons (+0.3%), liquid cargo — 94.8 million tons (-0.2% ).
In January-July, the cargo turnover of Russian seaports showed a decrease of 0.2%. The largest share drop was observed in the Caspian Sea due to a decrease in liquid cargo transshipment. In the largest basins – the Far East and the Baltic – the decrease in cargo turnover amounted to 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively.
