Candy confirms the suspension of production in Kirov

Household appliance manufacturer Candy confirmed to Kommersant the suspension of production of washing machines in Kirov due to “current market conditions.”
“The stability of production was affected primarily by changes in demand and delays in international production and logistics chains. We are committed to the continuity of production processes, the company takes all necessary measures to meet all the needs of business partners and end consumers,” said the press service of Candy.
Earlier, Kommersant reported that due to the overstocking of household appliances in the Russian Federation, the lack of demand, the appreciation of currencies and competition from cheap Chinese brands, the consumer electronics plant JSC Vesta in Kirov, owned by Candy, suspended production on April 17.
