The average price for laptops of popular brands in December increased by 10% compared to the same figure for other months of this year – from 60,700 rubles. up to 65,600–66,000 rub. by the beginning of December. Against this background, sales of domestic computers increased by 35–40%. Fplus business analyst Artur Makhlayuk told Vedomosti about this, his words are quoted “Vedomosti”.
Prices have increased for almost all laptops, Evgeniy Kharitonov, editor-in-chief of the technology portal Ferra.ru, told the publication. According to his data, compared to September-October, prices rose by 10-15% by December, but not for all brands.
Apple laptops have risen in price the most in annual terms – by 40–50%. Prices for the MSI gaming brand have increased by 30–45% (depending on the configuration). The Huawei Matebook D15, a popular laptop in Russia, has increased in price by 20% on average. Prices for Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptops increased from 60,000 to 83,000 rubles, or by 36%. Mid-range laptops, for example, Asus Vivobook, have hardly increased in price.
As a representative of Fplus said, the average price of devices for the year as a whole decreased slightly – from 62,300 to 60,700 rubles, or by 2.6%. This is due to the departure of more expensive brands and the entry of new Chinese brands into the Russian market. Sales of previously popular brands like Lenovo fell by 51% year-on-year, and HP by 84%.
Today, brands from the mid-price segment from China and Taiwan (MSI, Huawei, Asus, etc.) are most often chosen, says Alexey Barov, CEO of the OFD Platform. He also reported that the number of sales of domestic brands (iRU, Raybook, Irbis) increased by 35–40%. According to Fplus business analyst Arthur Makhlayuk, laptops from Chinese brands in the mid-price segment are selling well.
