By the end of the year, Russia will supply 100 million tons of oil to China and 70 million tons to India.

Russia will supply 100 million tons of oil to China by the end of 2023, and 70 million tons of oil to India, said Transneft President Nikolai Tokarev. He also spoke about new export destinations: Egypt, Morocco, Myanmar and Pakistan.

“Export volumes to China and India have increased significantly, manifold. About 70 million tons of oil were supplied to India this year, and about 100 million tons of oil to China. New directions have appeared: Egypt, Morocco, Myanmar, Pakistan just recently,” the Transneft president said on Rossiya-24.

To increase exports to new directions, Transneft repaired the Gruzovaya railway station: this will increase supplies by 7 million tons of oil for transshipment in the Far Eastern port of Kozmino, from where oil is delivered by tankers mainly to China. In addition, the company is building the Achinskaya oil pumping station (OPS) in the Irkutsk region. It should start operating in the first half of 2024 – this will also increase supplies of oil to China through the port of Kozmino by 7 million tons.

As before Kommersant reported, oil shipments through the port of Kozmino in December updated their historical maximum, amounting to 925 thousand b/d. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that in ten months of this year Russia supplied more oil to China than in the entire last year. According to the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, Russia supplied 97.5 million tons of oil to China in the period January-November of this year. This is 22% more than the same period last year.
