Businessman Ruben Vardanyan announced his decision to renounce Russian citizenship and move to Nagorno-Karabakh, should from his YouTube address.
“I decided to move to Artsakh, renouncing my Russian citizenship. This decision was not easy for me, but I am sure that it is the right one. I hope my Russian partners and friends will accept this decision with understanding and respect as the decision of their friend,” Vardanyan said.
The businessman also called for an increase in the stay of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh. “I think that the mandate of the peacekeepers should be clarified, and the terms of their stay should be increased until we can ensure the security of the people of Artsakh on our own,” he stressed.
Vardanyan explained his move with a desire to support local residents who are “in a difficult psychological state.” “We must do everything to make Artsakh strong, secure, developed and happy, to make it one of the world centers and the center of Armenians,” he concluded.
